Ingredients
1 Sheet - Puff Pastry (cold)
3 tbsp - Butter, melted
-
¼ cup - Granulated Maple Sugar
¼ cup - Sugar
½ tsp - Salt
Directions
- In a small bowl, mix the sugars and salt together.
- Roll out puff pastry to a large rectangle.
- Brush the top with butter and generously sprinkle with maple sugar.
- Using the rolling pin, roll the sugar into the dough (3-5 passes).
- Flip the dough over and repeat on the other side.
- Fold the ends to meet the middle (top to middle - bottom to middle), then repeat 2x until you have a tight heart shaped roll.
- Wrap the dough tightly and chill for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F
- Line a sheet tray with a baking mat or parchment paper.
- Remove the wrap and cut in 1/2 inch slices.
- Lay each palmier on the lined tray and bake for 7-10 minutes or until they are golden brown.
- If they unfurl too much, use the tip of a butter knife to reshape into the classic heart shape.
- Let the palmiers cool completely and enjoy!
