Great Northern Bean Casserole with Maple and Apple

Ingredients
- 3 cans of great northern beans drained and rinsed
- 2 stalks of celery diced
- 1 large apple cored and diced
- 1 sweet onion peeled and sliced thin
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
- 2 teaspoons sweet paprikaÂ
- 1 pinch cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup vegetable or chicken stock
- 2-3 tablespoons Ben’s Maple Sugar
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
- Add the olive oil or butter to a skillet and over medium heat sauté the celery, onion, and apple until they begin to soften.
- Add in the garlic, paprika, cayenne, salt, and stir over medium heat for one minute.
- Pour the stock into the skillet with the sautéed ingredients and give a stir. Scrape any stuck bits off the bottom and bring to a boil and then remove from heat.
- Combine the sautéed vegetables and stock with the beans in a casserole dish. Sprinkle Ben’s Maple Sugar over top and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
