This recipe is so simple and so delicious. Use store bought crescent rolls and a sharp cheddar cheese as the base. Top with fresh asparagus, maple syrup, and olive oil. Sprinkle with fresh ground salt and pepper, parmesan, and red pepper flakes. Pop in the oven until the cheese is melty, the pastry browned, and the maple drizzled asparagus tender. Enjoy!
Ben’s 100% Pure Maple Syrup
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F
Prepare baking sheet with parchment paper
Unroll crescent dough and lightly crimp edges so they all connect
Bake dough for about 8 minutes- just to pale, not brown
Remove from oven and sprinkle cheddar cheese evenly on top
Lay down the asparagus on the cheese
Drizzle with maple syrup and olive oil
Season with salt, pepper, pinch of red pepper flakes (to taste)
Sprinkle grated Parmesan lightly on top
Bake about 20 minutes until golden and edges are browned
