Simple Ways to Celebrate Fall—Part 2

Hi there, maple lovers, and welcome back to Ben's Pure Maple Syrup blog. In our recent post, we exclaimed our excitement for one of our favorite seasons of the year—fall! As summer transforms into the crisp, autumn season, we have begun exploring some of our favorite ways to celebrate the fall season in part one of our short blog series. Today, we'll continue looking at more ways to enjoy the simple pleasures of fall by going on fun, fall-themed outdoor adventures and making yummy fall recipes at home. If you're as thrilled as we are that fall is finally here, please continue reading below to learn how to celebrate the fall season to its fullest.

Go on a Hay Ride

There's something magical about the aroma of sweet hay and crisp, freshly fallen maple leaves that really signals the approach of fall. What better way to enjoy the scenes and scents of fall than by going on a hayride at one of the local farms in your area? What's great is that often times, if you don't already live in a rural area, driving to a farm or ranch that offers hayrides also gives you the chance to drive through the countryside where you can marvel at the trees changing colors. It's like you're getting two adventures in one!

Go for a Drive

On that note, take a drive through the countryside, hillside, or mountains where you can gaze at the autumn grandeur, while enjoying time away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Give yourself a break from the everyday stresses of life by driving with the windows cracked so you can catch the invigorating aroma of the fall air. Create the perfect playlist to accompany you on your outing or enjoy the silence and simplicity of country roads. Keep your eyes peeled for roadside waterfalls or streams where you can stop to enjoy a nice cup of warm tea or coffee and a snack. Go solo or take the family or a loved one along for the ride and enjoy the simple pleasures of fall.

Visit a Pumpkin Patch

What could be more “fall” than visiting a pumpkin patch? While going to the pumpkin patch is a staple activity for kids around Halloween, walking around a patch full of pumpkins is a wonderful way to tap into childhood memories, allowing that good ‘ol nostalgia to seep in and get you extra jazzed about fall. While the kids are picking out the biggest, plumpest pumpkin to carve up for Halloween, look for mini autumn pumpkins and small gourds to decorate the home with. Place them near dimly-lit lamps and candles (at a safe distance) so that the light dances off the beautiful orange colors, creating a beautiful lighting effect for any kitchen, dining room, or living room.

Make a Delicious Maple Drink

For a hot, frothy fall drink to enjoy while on your hay ride, drive through the countryside, or while walking through the pumpkin patch, follow this recipe to make delicious maple milk using Ben's Pure Maple Syrup.
